Youth Mentoring for 2018 for various programmes for Sec Sch students.

Requirements
• Volunteers’ age group (18 – 35 years old)
• Interest in outdoors activities and working with youth
• Able to commit to 80% of mentoring schedule
• Commit to a mentoring relationship with the mentees that will last at least 10 months
• Group mentoring ratio of 2: 5 (mentors to mentees)
• Update on mentees’ progress fortnightly via reports
• Complete pre and post quantitative and qualitative feedback

Please indicate the following preferences:
Level: Lower Sec Students / Upper Sec Students / Any
Location in Singapore: East / West / North / South / Central / Any

1. Applicants will be invited for screening interview.
2. Successful applicants will be required to attend compulsory basic mentoring training in Jan/Feb 2018.

Various roles available:
1. Marketing & Advertising (e.g. Social media, Print, etc.)
2. Programme Planning (e.g. Event organisation, Scheduling, Coordination with partners, etc.)
3. Participant Management (e.g. Data management, Manage sign-ups before and on event day, etc.)
4. Logistics (e.g. Venue, Food, Collaterals, Stage backdrop, etc.)
5. Volunteer Welfare and Engagement (e.g. Creating opportunities for everyone to have fun!)

The opening show of Gentarasa 2018 – Bersatu Menuju Kesejahteraan (Together Towards Harmony) is a cultural production that celebrates the progress and aspirations of the Singapore Malay community.

The production will also showcase the importance of living harmoniously with one another. It promises to be a spectacular production that reflects the importance of preserving our culture, family values and community spirit in Singapore. For the first time, the production will be presented in an open community hub so as to allow for a better outreach.

Every year, MENDAKI is part of the Inter-Racial Inter-Religious Harmony Nite; a dinner event bringing community from all ethnic and religious backgrounds together to celebrate the harmony in Singapore in conjunction with the Harmony Week celebrated in schools. The event will be graced by the President of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob’s inaugural appearance at the event.

It will be attended by representatives from different community and religious groups including the SHGs. Other guests will include representatives from our regional neighbours. Leading to the event night, there will be fringe activities that inculcate the values of the different communities.

We would like to invite you to attend this event and at the same time assist us to be volunteer ushers for the event as well. We have 30 slots available.
